Softpower Contemplation

I started to think and surf for my dissertation topic in the Shanghai office at around 4 pm. In 40 minutes time I finally arrived at a close-to-final conclusion : Comparison of SOFTPOWER between US and China. I read the Chinese book on the same topic when I returned to the hotel. From what the pioneer of the theory ,Dr Joseph S. Nye , has summed up and the messages from the book, I am delighted that my choice is the right one. It encompasses huge portion of my field of study, belief systems and personal values, and most of the various topics which I have been particularly keen to explore at one stage or another. While I am confused as to which shall be my priority to focus , the choice today would solve most if not all of my contradictions and querries, as outlined

• The topic acts as a link, and even is part and parcel of the diversed fields which I am paying attention. First of all, it is closely connected to the original topic chosen, ie, on Comparison Between US and China, which actually has not been finalised. The 2 nations are still my point of interest. The main theme, the Softpower, fits into the requirement of thesis writing : more focused and not too wide and diversified. The main theme also match closely to other areas which I explore: on cultural softpower, attractive traditional culture such as feng shui, yijing, qimen, purple star, genealogy, art of war, Chinese wisdom of the ages, historical deeds of Wen Wang etc, some of the Chinese religions. On personal attrations like success principles, positive living, motivation, public speaking, Obamania and the like. On current affairs and national development , Chinese development, Chinese management etc.
• When I explore , I would cover almost everything. That means when I start to write on the topic I would be writing on all areas at the same time. When I write my blog I am also writing on the title. When I read on any subjects , it’s actually part of my thesis writing process. My life is also an integral part of my work! That is really amazing! This reminds me of the wonder numbers!
• My profession now is also neatly interwined with the main theme. When I use softpower in the management of my companies I am actually in it.
• All that I have involved myself in for whole life are all deeply connected.
• The topic will become my main theme for public expressions, such as speeches, seminars, motivation classes, on multimedia coverage. If I join Yijing Society as part of my social activities, I am justified, so as my involvement in Lead Academy.
• Softpower manifests in humility, patience, service, and all humanistic behavior. Some of the books on Chinese soft side are considered part of it. It also fits in my personality and character, and my way of doing things.
• It’s amazing that one topic will cover such an enormous arena, so comprehensive and interrelated. I can even consider the theme as my life principles and focus, explore and express for a lifetime. It will become a very useful medium or tool to influence, to market, to live with. It’s all encompassing. I am completely overwhelmed! I will make Softpower the theme of my future endeavour. It all boils down to what I want in life and what kind of image I want to portray to the world. Further analysis shows that the time is ripe that I would bring Sifu into the picture. With Sifu around, people are attracted around us. If I can start the ball rolling, many things can start to happen. This is going to be a global development which I am most interested to follow through. We are going to explore worldwide. The methodology can be quite different. I shall take this as an important area to study, looking for ways to grow.

Meanwhile it is natural that I carry on with the proposal propounded yesterday: have all things prepared. I would be comfortable with being informative and real. A new idea now come to my mind: can I develop this field the way Matsushita Kononoke built his business empire? Or shall I start from my own first, looking at the vulnerability of partnership. Delivering Xienshi’s message through public talk would be a very good way to promote. This lead me to another great idea which I believe is going to storm the world and would be much effective and long lasting: i.e via Retreat camps:

Retreat is suitable for Feng shui etc courses too. I would give a free talk first.

Next idea comes in now:

Exploring motivation talks as well. I remember when I was involved in motivation talks I had great sales plan. This includes initially giving free talks to organizations such as schools, societies, clubs, business organizations etc. I would then talk at sales companies such as mlm, insurance co etc. Few things to look into

1. Giving motivational talks with titles such as positive living would be great idea to start with. There are hundreds of topics that I can touch actually.

2. I feel great with motivational talks then teaching metaphysics subjects. This can develop into big business if I have something of my own.

3. Motivation talks can be incorporated with other fields of study. This is something worth exploring.

4. Teaching public eloquence is another area I am great in. What about digging the possibility?

5. I am interested in such a vast fields, what can I do next? Is it possible to do many things together? I believe it is a matter of creating power point presentation visual aids.

6. Seems that I am able to author books of different nature :

This is a big topic to study in great details and with passion.

Iching My Way

Iching on Management is a great book. I understand the content better than before. When I started reading the comprehension is already there intact, quite different from those days, during which i didn't even know what to expect and what angle to hold when exploring. It's an eye opener. Most likely my book titles will go along this line: ' Iching Softpower, The Mother of all Feng Shui', ' The Mother of Predictions', 'The Chinese Metaphysics Softpower', ' Softpower of The Century", ' Softpower Of The Longest Dynasty", ' Softpower In The Making", etc. If I resort to ',The IChing Softpower' ( The Oldest Softpower In History), the outline of the topics touched would be

· The Mother of All Feng Shui

· The Mother Of Chinese Predictions

· The Longest Wisdom Which Enlightens Mankind

· The Matrix Of The Universe

· The Doctrine Of The Heaven and Earth.

How do I connect passionately the title to my thesis? Wait, I have not even formulate my title yet. What about 'The Softpower Of The Emerging Economy', The Impact Of Softpower Of The Next Superpower to The World. No matter what title, it would involve China and the US. As to China, the cultural softpower is my interest. The wisdom behind a lot of Chinese beliefs and practices lies between lines of the Iching.

When I explore the various aspects of developments of the big nations, i gain comprehensive understanding. This knowledge would be useful when I touch on something related to Iching, eg, Qimendunjia. When I write on predictions of a country in terms of development, the areas which may be revealed will be on the various important aspects, such as education, economy, military, culture. On each portfolio, say, business industries, related things might be import export, manufacturing, logistics, forex, raw materials, manpower,morale,products, machineries, capital etc. If I can develop this aspect of prediction, i will create history. Other area would be international relationship, coastal relationship, etc. As I explore power, it would involve soft and hardpower. With that I am able to cover inter country relationship, economic tussle between the nations, and so many tangible things. If the feng shui of a location could be predicted, then the dvelopment of an industry, a city, an economic zone, etc could be done too. This will become a very big topic worth exploring. Of course, predicting the development of a building such as the Chinese Assembly Hall, we can resort to Feng shui of different schools, qimendunjia, Ziweidoushu, I Ching predictions, facts and figures, statistics and scientific analysis etc. Just to put few lines on prediction of destiny of an individual. This would be interesting, say prediction for a grown up lady, we can apply qimendunjia, ziweidoushu, Iching prediction, Bazi, etc.

I can do predictions and evaluations through different practices such as Iching prediction, qimendunjia, Ziweidoushu,Feng Shui, and supernatural power. Chinese jossstick burning will tell much too. In order to make the subject one of very intersting and convincing, i would have to do a lot of researches. Lots of readings on historical records of the east and the west. If I stress on the science and applicability of the art of predictions, i would be accepted broadly.

What I am trying to say is that, I could create a new trend of the Chinese Metaphysics Learning. Feng Shui and predictions is one interesting area.

as an individual, what would interest him or her are destiny, feng shui, predictions of a problem or a situation and remedy, improvement on work, health, financial, relationship etc. For businessman how the business fares, for politician what are the various possibilities of promotion, who are my rivals etc. The individual can assist himself on personal as well as helping his family to improve, on all aspects. A community, an industry, an association, and even the whole country. The remedy would be feng shui, mantra, and supernatural power. Qimendunjia provides solutions too. Ziweidoushu and Bazi will do their part to help shape the destiny. Motivation, success principles, positive living and guidelines from ancient wisdom such as Iching would help too.

More importantly people will be attracted to a good end, say learning to be good citizen.

One point which i think could boost my first book is, in the title 'Iching The Mother of All Chinese Metaphysics', apart from those areas which cater for first timer and people in general where you have to give them simple methods that can five high yields, i will write in a manner where all the knowledge on the various topics on different schools would be indicate tact,experience,real knowledge of the subject matter. This book will tell the world what I know about chinese Metaphysics, the greates masters of the subjects, and the historical reality.

Iching has relationship with zhou dynasty, the founder, and its generations which involves the modern chinese, China herself, my ownself. I thas to do with great learnings such as Taoism, confucianism etc. It is the mother of all feng shui, predictions and destiny. The ancient predictions were based on Iching. This prediction is relevant till todate. The wisdom of Iching can be used in strategies planning, art of war, personal development, success principles, motivation. It is also an important softpower determinant.

Now, the approach and startegy become clearer. I would read, learn and write. My first exposure would be on Iching Softpower, a topic which disclose my understanding and knowledge of the subject matters in question. At the same time i would disclose my thesis content, portraying someone who i aspire to be. People would want to know more from me. Then my next few books will give more practical answers. The last step would be giving talks and teaching, preferably starting with English version first.

My first step would be to read, collect all books on Iching, qimendunjia and Iching predictions, while start reading on softpower.

What is it so great about being able to predict Qimen( Wonder-gate)-styled? The powerful system of prediction was as old as the first universally-recognised ancestor of the Chinese race, the mystical Yellow Emperor. The Yellow Emperor was believed to be the first individual who employed the guidance and superior vital force of the qimen calculations to defeat His most feared enemy, Ziyou. The marvellous learning which is known as qimendunjia, The Wonder Gate and Hidden Chief, could also be a tool to win in important maneuvors and undertakings by following the right directions at the right timing.


It works on some kind of divine formula and analysis through a certain pattern and predetermined parameters. You can predict all things under the sun, including matters regarding any celebrity or current affairs. It has to do with Yijing and is really interesting and fascinating.

The Qimen Wisdom is appealing to me. I have been enfrossed in mastering it for years, through my Taiwanese Grand Master Chen Hezhou. How do I refresh my qimen learning and start writing ? My option is to write the whole thing about Qimendunjia in English. This is the best method for me to really 'overhaul' my understanding of the field of study right from scratches. Anyway i will write only when I am in sync with it. The topic will touch on specific usages, predictions , its background, purpose and various implications. This is a subject matter which act as a catalyst to induce other topics such as yijing, feng shui, history, international relations, purple star, wanglao, success principles, motivation, intention, positive living etc. a big portion will involve translation. This would encourage me to learn further from masters of the field, from all over. Further developments would bring me to Net Academy 's system of lecturing through the net.

What will qimen bring to me personally. I have been considering predictions of things and future not really necessary. Well, of course things may change. Let me figure out now. Ok, am I eager to apply on my writing career? Well, I am already quite confident as I have been getting full messages from purple star about my future situation. What about checking for other people such as mother, sister , ahsan, my own marriage. This is not merely touching on future developments, but on remedial measures that can be taken to address problems and issues. I can seek for right measures so that I do better. Great, something more meaningful has just come out from the elaboration. The disclosure will also come out with solutions, or put it another way the revelation itself also make us feel the necessity to act, change, make efforts. This is also good to motivate, advise, caution, and persuade. Rather than letting smaller matters aggravate, it helps to reduce the effects. Businessman may want this assistance to check whether his decision on a new business is viable. As he need to dumb in personal capital which is very crucial, some confidence and advice are crucial. Dear, this will bring out the issue of feng shui , purple star etc. I think in terms of serving people, or strengthening effects of motivation, this is significant. If a field of study serves to contribute and not inducing us to superstitions, it is worthwhile to introduce to the world. This should be real and stressed in the process. In this manner, revealing the culture to the world would serve me good too, as I am also involving myself in the topics of soft power.

Qimen will create funs on its ability to predict almost anything. Yes this bring me to another title on Yijing predictions by a great Chinese master, and a close friend who learn from Taiwan. That would be another area to explore. Anyway coming back to qimen, it is one field which everybody can learn and apply. Comparing to other field of prediction, qimen is learneable and based on analysis to the situation. All things are revealed in the computations. This make it more interesting in that we can do further study in a more scientific ways. I can come out with many innovative approaches to present it.

Contributions of qimen can be very wide and helpful to the mankind as well. Fields such as military, scientific explorations, universe probe, political developments, international relationship building, nation security, crime investigations, decision on choice of study, organization involvements, future of the world, sports, entertainment business, business exploration, career, family protections, future planning. What if a combination of all areas is introduced. That would be more complete, more effective, and accurate. If an issue is being check through different fields, the effect would be very convincing.

Qimen will also help a lot in feng shui consultation and placements. After adjustment one can check whether it is properly done. Qimen also reveal many other things on the feng shui of it. Of course talking about combination, purple star can also reveal. Yijing predictions too. What is the implications? It ascertain the service done. With qimen, one can also check a house. Whether it is good to stay for long. Qimen also help fs consultants to know better about a situation. This is value added as he can explain and strengthen his point for arguing and convincing.

Qimen assist in checking best time to act, to fight a court case, to compete in a political campaigne. What will happen to me if I start to put attention and efforts in the practice? Will I ignore other developments? Can I start to apply qimen on things other than what I used to check? Formerly, I applied qimen on things like my own activity on the day itself. That is for the need during that particular time. However, today is quite different in the sense, I can apply it on other fields which are more significant, or helpful to the study of the field as a whole. I can even create field of studies which qimen exploration, so that it becomes more unique and relevant. This can be done through scientific methodology. Make it very acceptable to the world we live, make it acceptable to the business world. Corporate need qimen to predict thire investments. Of course if I use qimen to accurately tell about their existing ones, that would be most convincing. In fact a book can be written on the compilation of all the business cases. Even, political changes. Yes, the future of the earth is also critical. Global warming, pollution, the future of the panda, say. The future of a government, a political situation, who will be the next PM etc. bring the world politic to the fore and do systematic study on them. I can even divie them to my students, each handling one country or situation. What about the future of the superpowers, the exploration of space by China, India, Japan etc. These are various fields to go deep.

So much things qimen can do. I can predict or tell what effect is a feng shui to me. For example, the Nanan, ancestral house, my grandfather’s fs, my old house fs. What effects of them on me. This helps a lot in how much attention you need to place. It make you priotise, help in decision making. Of course the challenge is in the different considerations when you make a decision. If we are involved in business or mgt decision, more systematic and scientific methods will be applied. These are based on research, experience and study and various financial analysis. A finacial run need to be carried oueg. However if every thing has been considered, and there are different voices, then the boss can resort to qimen for the best choice or solution. Qimen can even analyse for you too. It can even tell the future of it. When this is possible, all the corporates of the world will need its service. You can predict the future of a city development through its gdp etc. qimen might be wider to apply than fs.
All the reports on each reading can be recorded for future reference and compile for publishing. This make it very scientific. Will this be simpler than fs in terms of its application on business readings and predictions? Reminding me of how the qimen author predict the success of a shopping mall. I believe it is easier and more accurate. Flying star is affected by the irregularities of luopan readings and other cmplex and contradictory factors. Almos every situation will be faced with some uncertainty. I the master would resort to qimen to assist in the analysis, he can be much more confident and his advice woulbd show more responsibility. As he is accountable for the well being of the house or building consulted. A compilation on the study of various governments and business entity will be more easier than fs reading, as you don’t have to travel to the whitehouse to tell the qimen reading. All the readings or studty can be done at your leisure and your home. This can be some kind of a serious thing as lots of company secret will be recorded. However it is good for convincing your clients. Man, I can even predict how far I can go with these field of studies or is it worthwhile to go deep into each sub line.

In feng shui, you can’t tell whether a building will be blasted or not. However, qimen and yijing will be able to indicate. Can I accept the viability and justification to take up this area for exploration? On a broader view, qimen is not merely a book of prediction, but it covers a wide field. It would not be superstitious when a scientific study can be done on its various hypothesis. Through empirical methodology, and systematic recordings of observations, the study become more acceptable as it can be applied systematically and the readings can even be done by another master.
